After a 20 + year career in corporate sales and marketing roles for Fortune 100 Consumer Packaged Goods companies, Sharlene took the leap and quickly became a serial entrepreneur, launching 5 companies in two years. Following her passions for Photography, Real Estate Investing and Interior Design, she created businesses that specialize in making things more beautiful. Sharlene has a natural ability to turn something average into extraordinary.
Sharlene’s pride and joy is Financially Fit Females, the women’s financial support group she founded in 2008. Created based on her own desire to become more financially savvy, this groups mission is to educate, encourage and empower women to become financially fit by making the most of what they have, finding ways to earn more, spending and investing it wisely and passing your wealth and assets onto future generations.
For seven years Sharlene supported Dress for Success Denver, a Non Profit that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women. Sharlene also served for 5 years on the Board of Directors at Fashion Group International of Denver, the third oldest Non Profit in Denver.
Sharlene is a published author of the recently released “Financially Fit Females - The Book- Volume One” and is also a Contributing Author to “Speaking Your Truth Volume 2”. She is scheduled to publish her third book soon called “5 Simple Steps to both Health and Wealth”

Dr. Uusinarkaus is involved in medical education – he is an assistant professor of Family Medicine at the University of Colorado, Denver. He also has a passion for preventive cardiology, becoming certified in Clinical Lipidology the first year it was offered, in 2005. He has additional training as a specialist in the treatment of hypertension. He is currently a board member of the South West Lipid Association – a regional entity of the National Lipid Association. In addition, he maintains an active research interest, participating as a Principal Investigator in many clinical trials involving new treatments for common ailments and diseases. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, golfing, spending time with his family, and the many outdoor activities Colorado has to offer.

Pregnancy and the Heart
Presented by: Dr. Christy Pearce
Dr. Christy Pearce is board certified in both Ob/Gyn and Maternal Fetal Medicine. She was born and raised in Alabama, and attended Samford University in Birmingham, AL. She graduated from University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical School and moved to Chattanooga, TN to complete Ob/Gyn residency at University of Tennessee. She completed her fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Kentucky in 2012. Though Dr. Pearce enjoys all aspects of caring for high risk pregnancies, she is particularly interested in preeclampsia and maternal and fetal cardiac physiology. Her translational research has investigated inflammation in pregnancy as it relates the function of blood vessels, the placenta, and the heart. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. They are outside as much as they can be: hiking, skiing, and just playing at the park.
