American Heart Association offers a series of health and wellness Lunch & Learn presentations for corporations. These interactive sessions will inspire, teach and encourage employees to lead healthier lifestyles at home and in the workplace.

Lunch & Learn Topics
1. Live Better with Life’s Simple 7
Live better with “Life’s Simple 7”. The American Heart Association has identified seven health factors and lifestyle behaviors that support heart health. Participants will learn about the seven simple steps to take to prevent heart disease and stroke. Research demonstrates that when individuals become physically active, control cholesterol, manage blood pressure, eat better, lose weight, check blood sugar and do not smoke quality of life can be greatly improved. This session provides participants with the tools to take a few simple steps toward a healthier life.
2. Eating for a Heart Healthy Lifestyle
Healthy eating is essential for heart health. In this session participants learn to make smart food choices and incorporate good nutrition into daily life. Participants will learn about the American Heart Association’s nutrition recommendations and simple changes to make when choosing foods.
3. Fitting in Fitness
Cardiovascular disease is the #1 killer in America. Physical inactivity doubles the risk of cardiovascular disease. In this session participants learn how even low to moderate intensity activities (for as little as 30 minutes per day) can have beneficial health impacts. Participants will learn tips and tricks on how to fit more activity into a busy workday, as well as easy and fun exercises that incorporate the main components of physical fitness.
4. De-Stress. Live Life in the Low Stress Zone
Life can get hectic. Managing stress is an important part of maintaining good health. By learning to identify stress triggers and implement solutions to reduce stress, participants will understand how to make meaningful lifestyle changes necessary to prevent future health problems. Participants will also leave with an action plan to immediately start reducing stress levels.
5. Simple Cooking with Heart – Cooking Demonstration
Simple Cooking with Heart is an American Heart Association program and website anyone can access with dozens of heart healthy recipes and cooking instructional videos that make preparing food at home easier. We can bring a cooking demonstration to your workplace to show the ease and simplicity of the Simple Cooking with Heart recipes. Our cooking demonstrations can be conducted anywhere - no kitchen or stove required!
6. Making New Habits Stick – The Art & Science of Health Behavior Change
In our quest for weight loss, a healthier diet, or better saving habits, we often struggle to make new habits last. Participants will learn practical tips from leading behavior change methods to clear the hurdles and adopt healthy habits for good. Leave with an action plan and make the year ahead a year of meaningful changes and rewarding results.
